Goodbye Summer.....

We have had a spectacular summer....we kicked it off early with our South Padre Island Beach Vacation. I have to say that I was in utter shock at how well it all went. When we orignally picked our 8 hour drive vaca destination I was in panic mode and having nightmares of what was to come by taking a 3yo and a 5mnth old on an 8hr road trip. However, at 2:30am my 3yo went flying off the bed onto her head and hit the floor. I was like "really, this is how were going to start." So, no sense in going back to sleep we were up and loaded by 3am and hit the road. Little did we know that this was the greatest idea ever because the kids slept the entire way........:)! Thank you SWEET JESUS.

We literally stopped only to potty and eat. My oldest woke up just in time to watch us go over the bridge and we were there. It was pure bliss doing nothing but sitting on the beach. We stayed at a quaint little condo called The Palms Resort that was located right on the beach. There was also a cafe/grill attached which made the most amazing sirloin burgers I have ever had in my life. It could have been a little more updated but it was good for the pocket book. The kids loved the water and played in the sand the entire time. Much better then last years vaca to Sea World San Antonio. I would also like to add that the The Palms was pet friendly which put the cherry on top of our whipcream!
Then we played our first year of CUBBIES.....definitley an experience!(Go Rio Vista!)

Wayne went fishing

We also enjoyed some of the summer usuals ........

Dinosaur World in Glen Rose with Nonna & Papa

Savannah & Papa
Avery & Papa on a Fossil Dig

Enjoying  Granbury Lake Beach..............................
Avery made sure I knew this was not the same kind of beach as the one prevously mentioned!

Love.....the splash pad and my little miss priss!

Last but not least went to our cousins birthday in Longview........

This year he wanted a Davy Crockett birthday and no one could have done it better. Kuddos to Brandy & Jason...if you need some Davy Crockett ideas you can catch her at www.mythirtyone.com/27364

I have to add this last moment....After finishing an orange Avery made her polly pocket a bed out of orange peels. GENIUS...Need I say more:)

While I enjoyed our moments, I am glad to say so long summer..........................I need a break from the sweltering wet heat and the long nights you provide that makes it impossible for me to get the kids inside and go to bed. Ahhhhhhhhhhh Here comes Fall.
