JKS International Salons in Burelson, Texas

Do you ever feel so "motherish" and you think "ughhh, I've got to do something with myself." Well, I do and in my experience it has been after I have had each of my daughters. Life just get's so busy and then one day I look in the mirror and think what has happened to me.
Anyway, I had this revelation about a week ago and had decided to go with the Victoria Beckham pob but was unsure as to who was going to help me pull this off. My previous hair dresser had relocated to one of those fancier salons in Forth Worth and along with that came the fancier prices. Had I been single I would have shelled out but you know the sacrifices us mothers have to make.
I have longer hair mind you but with two kids it's always on top of my head so I wanted something short. However, my husband loves the long hair so I was decided but unsure. So I walked into JKS Salon in Burleson and was greeted by a lovely Chanci. We talked over the pob and I knew my husband really likes the long hair so I decided to keep the long hair and said let's just update the long hair. I have to say that I was nervous and thought great "I didn't stick to my plan and I am going to walk out with the same long, flat hair I came in with.
But to my SURPRISE a blowdryer and roundbrush later I was in LOVE. She left the length and gave it all the right layers and height I wanted but have never been able to express. She went for a hand shake and I reached in for the hug. That haircut deserved a full on love ya girl hug! You should definitley go see Chanci at JKS Salon in Burleson and let her work her magic. You won't be disappointed.

Cleburne Is Getting a FAST TACO!!!

I am so.................excited! Cleburne is getting a Fast Taco. I know I am easily pleased with apparently very unhealthy food choices but I absolutely love Fast Taco. It will be located where the old Braums was, which is across from the new Braums. What do you think about getting a Fast Taco and if you could chose any restaurant or fast food chain to come to Cleburne......what would it be?

Antique Alley 2010 Review

No Recession Here!
Antique Alley 2010 was not what was anticipated but definitley good as usual. We were on the Cleburne side of Antique Alley and there was not as much traffic as previous years however people still made sales and got bargains. Barbeque was great! Let me know what you thought about the event this year and how it was further down Highway 4.

Alpha & Omega 3D Movie Review

Today was like Christmas for my oldest one as she has been asking to see this movie since the previews came out.  She calls it the wolf show. While I know that she enjoyed it, I did not feel it was as good as anticipated
It was a cute movie but a lot of hidden adult humor. The first 30 minutes I was questioning if the movie was going to be appropriate because it seemed as though the humor was right on that line of appropriate and not appropriate. However, after the first half the action picked up and became more kid friendly keeping her attention. The Guardians comes out next week and I have to say that if there was a choice I would probably wait and see that one. Let me know what you thought about the movie and how you felt about the adult humor.

Jumping Apes Birthday Party in Cleburne, Texas

We attended a  birthday party today at Jumping Apes in Cleburne and I have to say I was  impressed. We had previously been to another "Jumping" place of business in Cleburne and never returned because of the atmosphere. So to my surprise Jumping Apes did an A+ on cleanliness, staff , and atmosphere all around. I felt comfortable to let my child run about while keeping an eye out and didn't feel like I needed to wash my hands everytime I touched something. The decor is absolutely fantastic. It is truly kid friendly but great for parents also. They had some great bounce houses and a place for the wee little ones as well.

DIY Scarecrow

Now that we are well into September we spent Saturday evening making our homemade scarecrow. I was so excited because she is finally old enough to do these kind of projects and really help.....YEY! It only cost us $9 for the hay and everything else we found around the house.

$9 for bale of hay that will last all year.
Old pair of overalls.
Old Long Sleeve Shirt
2 pieces Extra Wood (one piece cut as a stake at bottom)
Safety pins from drycleaning
Markers for the face
Old Hat
Old Pantyhose
Wire or String

We begin by putting a piece of wood horizontally through the arms and stuffing the shirt with hay to make him really puffy. Then tied the ends of the arms with florist wire(any type of string or wire) and left a little hay sticking out for effect. We also closed the bottom of the shirt by attaching front and back with safety pins. Then we stuck the second piece of wood vertically through one pant leg and nailed the boards to each other. Now you have a standing scarecrow. Stuffed the legs and overalls with hay and tied at end of legs with wire.

For the face we tied the legs of the pantyhose together and cut off excess. Stuffed girdle part of hose with hay and formed to a head. Draw on Eyes, Nose, Rosy Cheeks and a Stitched Mouth. We attached the old had to the panty hose with safety pins. After hammering the scarecrow into the ground we attached to head by sliding down onto the top of the wood, adding a little extra hay at back of wood and then attaching to board with wire.

I used some old material to cut out letters that said "Welcome Fall" and hot glued onto his overalls. Once pumpkins arrive we will have to place some around him.

And Walla....................

West Fest 2010

So this was our first time to attend West Fest and it was a good time. We started at the Tractor Pull.....

Then there was a full blown carnival. We opted for the pony rides, petting zoo and free Lego kids table

We ended with some good chzec food, watching the dance floor and enjoying the crafty vendors.

All in all this was a good festival.....mostly the kids enjoyed and was able to buy some stuff that could have been bought at a local boutique or shop. I did like the tractor pool but was expecting a bit more muscled up tractors than what was shown. That's just me. If you are ever in the West, Texas area you should stop and pick up some kolaches and check out the local shops. Love this Texas town.

Fall Shopping For Kids Clothes Underway

The temp has not cooled off quite yet but I can not help but be sucked in by all the fall clothes on the racks. I found some cute deals from Old Navy, Children's Place and Target. Target has really impressed me this year but you better hurry or everything will be picked over.

DIY Girls Wall Mural

We are almost finished with th girls castle wall mural. I need to complete the sky and finito. I used a coloring book page to trace and it turned out pretty cute. If anyone in the surrounding counties of Johnson County would like a coloring book page wall mural done in a kids room.....let me know. Would love to do some demo murals. I am not an artist by any means and I only do coloring book or print out pages.
You buy the paint and I'll do the rest.
